Life Natural diet for Diabetics - part 1

The diet chart given in this post is applicable for the diabetes patients, taking tablets only. Those who use Insulin injection need to follow another type of diet chart given separately. They need to follow that first and slowly come out of injection stage to tablet stage. Later on the menu given in this section can be continued.

Morning 6 a.m. - Medicinal drink
Drink all three following juices on alternate days:
  • Bael Leaf juice
  • Mixed juices of Bermuda Grass & Black Nightshade (Manathakkali in Tamil)
  • Mixed juices of tender Coconut & Indian abutilon (Thuthi in Tamil)
If you can identify the Indian abutilon easily, then use the leaves of the plant and make the juice. Else you may skip drinking the third juice.

Morning 7.30 a.m. - Water Therapy
Take any of the water therapies given below for 30 minutes. This should be followed everyday.
Morning 8.30 a.m. - Greens kootu

Morning 11 a.m. - Fruit juice
Drink any one of the following fruit juices on alternate days. Do not add milk or additional sweetener (sugar, jaggery powder,honey,etc..).
  • Grapes
  • Orange
  • Pomegranate
Afternoon 1 p.m. - Satvik food
The menu given below should be followed daily for lunch. Eat 1 cup from each item. Do not add oil & tamarind any dish.

  1. Greens kootu - 1 cup (Use the alternate greens to what is used in the morning. If you do not want to repeat Kootu on the same day, try to prepare poriyal (sauting) or masiyal (mashing greens)).
  2. Banana stem pachadi - 1 cup
  3. Ash Gourd poriyal - 1 cup
  4. Greengram sundal or Chickpea sundal - 1 cup

Evening 4 p.m. - Panchatcharam juice

Night 7 p.m. - Satvik food
You may prepare any one of the items given below as per your choice. However, eating raw vegetable salad helps for speedy recovery.
Important points:
Once you start following this diet, you have to stop taking tablet from the third day onwards. Follow this diet for 30 days. After that, make a small change only in the lunch menu. Instead of the 4th cup i.e. boiled Green gram or Chickpeas, you may eat millets on alternate days. Any one millet of your choice is fine. The sugar level will be kept in control if this diet is rigorously practiced. Few of our friends have informed us that once their sugar level is brought into control, they were able to follow the common diet which is available in another post. Still their sugar level was maintained. So you may try that as well, depending on your body condition.

Some of the Millet varieties are given below:

  • Kodo millet
  • Little millet
  • Barnyard millet
  • Foxtail millet
  • Proso millet
  • Finger millet
  • Pearl millet (Bajra) 
  • Sorghum (Jowar)

      We would suggest you to help your mother understand Life Natural concepts first and then move on with Life Natural diet changes.
