- Barnyard millet – 1 cup (150 grams)
- Water – 2 1/4 cups
- Raw mango – 1 (150 grams grated)
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
- Urad dal - 1/2 teaspoon
- Bengal gram (Channa dal) – 1 teaspoon
- Ground nut - 2 teaspoons
- Dry red chilly - 1
- Asafoetida - 1 pinch
- Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
- Curry leaves – 2 springs
- Coriander (Cilantro) leaves – little quantity (chopped)
- Rock salt – as per taste
