Diet routine practiced in Life Natural

Before reading the Life Natural diet, we request you to go through the posts on Introduction & What is Life Natural? first. We highly recommend you to know the basics principles of Life Natural, if you are really interested to follow its diet. Without knowing the basic concepts, if you simply start practising the diet alone, you may get lot of doubts/ confusions in the following days. One should always have the clarity on why & what we are doing.

Life Natural Diet Routine:
The following Life Natural diet is common for both adults and children.

Morning between 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. - 1st Drink: Indian Gooseberry juice

Morning between 7a.m to 7.30 a.m. - 2nd Drink: Medicinal juices

Drink any one of the following juices everyday. Use the grinding stone always while preparing the medicinal drinks. Usage of a mixer grinder spoils the medicinal benefits as it produces heat.
  1. Bael Leaf Juice
  2. Bermuda Grass Juice
  3. Mint or Curryleaf Juice
  4. Ash Gourd & Banana Stem Juice
  5. Lemon with Honey Juice
If you have enough time in the morning before breakfast, you may drink Indian gooseberry juice first and leave 2 hours gap. Then drink the second juice and leave 1 1/2 hours gap for breakfast. If you can not maintain such intervals, then drink any one type of juice only. It is good enough to drink Indian gooseberry juice maximum twice or thrice in a week. Similarly Bael leaf juice & Bermuda grass juice should be taken only once in a month. Other juices can be taken on alternate days.

Morning 9 a.m. - Raw Vegetable salad or Fruits
For breakfast you may eat either raw vegetable salad or fruits. However, raw vegetable salad is preferred. Those who are newly converting to the 'Life natural' diet may find it difficult to eat raw vegetable salad all of a sudden. In that case, you may eat only fruits in the first week. In the second week, you can eat raw vegetable salad & fruits on alternative days. Once you are comfortable with vegetable salads, continue eating that forever during breakfast. Cooked food should be strictly avoided in breakfasts.

(A) Raw Vegetable Salads:
The vegetables have got all six tastes by nature. Hence do not add salt or any other spices in salad.

You may make any of the salads given below for breakfast:
  1. Carrot, Cabbage & Sprouted Greengram Salad
  2. Chayote, Radish & Beetroot Salad
  3. Cauliflower & Capsicum Salad
  4. Snake Gourd Salad
(B) Fruits:
Fruits can be classified into three categories i.e. Sweet, Acid & Sub-acid. Mono-diet is best for our digestion system. So you may eat fruits from any one of the categories in a single meal. If you would like to eat two types of fruits, then choose the fruits which belong to the same category.

For example:
In mono-diet : Papaya / Banana / Guava / Pomegranate / Orange / Mango / Sapota
In dual-diet : Papaya+Banana / Papaya+Mango / Sapota+Mango / Orange+Lemon

Please visit www.acidalkalinediet.net and subscribe for 'Food combination chart' to get more details on this. Eating the seasonal fruits which are cultivated in your nearby areas is the best choice. Avoid the imported varieties as those fruits do not have same nutrition as the local ones.

Morning 11 a.m. -  Soup or Kheer
You may go for either Soup or Kheer at 11 a.m. only if you are hungry, else you may eat lunch directly at 1 p.m.

Lunch between 1 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. - Cooked Satvik food
Eat the square meal during lunch. This should be cooked in a satvik manner. Oil and Tamarind should not be used while preparing any of these dishes. Instead of Iodized salt, use Rock Salt (also known as Himalayan rock salt) which is available in organic stores.

A typical square meal is composed of:
  1. Rice - 1 cup (or) Roti - 2 to 3 nos (or) Satvik Idli - 3 to 4 nos
  2. Sambhar - 1 cup
  3. Greens Kootu - 1 cup
  4. Vegetable poriyal - 1 cup

  • For Rice either use hand pound, unpolished paddy rice or millets like Kodo millet, Little millet, Barnyard millet, Foxtail millet, Proso millet
  • Roti can be made of Wheat, Finger millet, Pearl millet (Bajra) & Sorghum (Jowar)

Evening at 5 p.m. - Tea
Drink any one of the following tea varieties:
  1. Dry ginger & Coriander seeds tea
  2. Orange tea
  3. Green tea
Night 7.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. - Fruits
Eat only fruits during supper. Cooked food should be strictly avoided. Follow the same procedure given in the Breakfast section. While eating sweet fruits, you may also eat grated coconut along with jaggery powder. Dry fruits or nuts varieties also can be eaten during supper. In either options, follow mono-diet system which is highly recommended.

Important points to remember / follow while eating food:

  1. Our body is the place where God resides. We do follow certain disciplined activities while offering something to God. Similarly, while eating, we need to sit on a floor spread. Need to pay full attention to the food and enjoy each and every bite. Avoid talking to others, watching Television and thinking about other sorrows/ worries.
  2. Irrespective of the food items we eat or drink (salad, fruits, cooked food, juice or water), just remember the phrase 'EAT WATER; DRINK FOOD' and act accordingly. It stresses upon the point where saliva plays the key role in our digestive system. Any type of food should be chewed thoroughly by teeth and it can be swallowed only in liquid form. The best yoga for teeth is 'Chewing' according to Life natural concepts.
  3. Avoid drinking water 30 minutes before & after eating the solid food items. Drink water only when you feel thirsty.
  4. Always consume vegetables, fruits & groceries which are produced through organic farming. If it is not available in your locality, you may consume what is available in the local markets. However, do not forget to drink Bael leaf (Sirphal in Hindi) once in a month. This juice helps the body to clear the toxins accumulated due to chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
  5. Avoid all types of carbonated drinks and processed & packed food (biscuits, chips, health drink mix, etc..) available in the shops.
  6. Avoid the following 5 whites completely: Rice, Milk and all kinds of dairy products (reasons to avoid), Ice-cream, Sugar & Salt. It is better to avoid salt completely in cooked food. To start cutting down on salt,  use the Rock salt (Himalayan salt), instead of iodized salt.
  7. Life Natural practice does not recommend eating any food item which does not belong to 'Plant Kingdom'. If you are not able to avoid eating 'Non-vegetarian' food items, atleast reduce the quantity of carbohydrate items in that meal (like rice or roti). Because non-vegetarian food has more protein. As usual, remember to follow the mono-diet concept here as well. It means that eat only one type of non-veg in a single meal.
  8. Keep minimum 1 to 2 hours gap after supper and go to sleep.
